✈️ Understanding the DA40NG 100-Hour Inspection

Aircraft maintenance requirements can sometimes feel confusing—especially when terms like 100-hour inspection come up. So what does it actually mean? ⚙️🔍

🔍 What’s Included in a 100-Hour Inspection?

For Diamond Aircraft, a 100-hour inspection combines routine servicing with a thorough evaluation of overall aircraft condition, including:

  • Tires, brakes, and rotors 🛞
    Oil and filter changes 🛢️
    • Engine and system checks 🔧
    • Inspection of wear items and operating components ⚙️
    • Review of equipment condition and general airworthiness 📋✈️

These inspections confirm that the aircraft has not developed issues over the previous 100 flight hours—and that it is fully prepared for the next.

🛩 What About Private Aircraft Owners?

If you own a private aircraft, many of these items are typically addressed during the annual inspection, required every 12 months.

However, if your aircraft reaches or exceeds 100 flight hours before its annual, we strongly recommend performing a 100-hour-style inspection, even when it is not strictly required.

Why? Because many components experience measurable wear over 100 hours of operation. Proactive inspections help you:

  • Prevent unexpected downtime ⏱️
    Catch small issues early 🔍
    Protect long-term aircraft value 💎
Maintain peak safety and reliability 🛡️

Keeping your aircraft in top operating condition is always the best philosophy.
